Homer, Sophocles, Euripides, The Parthenon, The Acropolis, ancient mythology, and street performers. According to an anthology of street art by Jan Cohen-Curz, public performance was popular even before tragedy in Greece. The first International Street Theatre Festival took place in 2009. During the rest of the year, jugglers, tightrope walkers and bazouki players can be found performing in Patission Square and near Ermou Street, the main shopping center in Athens.
