If The Spirit Level is to be believed, many social problems (including the areas of crime, drugs, health and education) stem from a countries income inequality, so when you put one of the world's poorest areas next to beaches full of wealthy playboys, you're bound to find trouble.  But Rio is the perfect location to visit and enjoy street art. The favela painting project is a mixture of political and social expression, a colourful way of expressing love and joy in one of the world's most dangerous areas. Dozens of other street artists hail from this historic city, having designed so much of the city our project would not be complete without seeing it (here and here). The last stop on our trip, and a good one.
