Claudio Montuori—more commonly known as The Birdman—wears a birdskull hat and orange beak that hangs down over his eyes. More than the traditional one-man-band accordionist with bells on his ankles and castanets on his knees, he utilises a collection of squeaking toys, bicycle horns and even a grunting rhino to create his surreal performances. His persona is that of a mythical creature, the fascination of those with a decent imagination, stuff of legends, almost unbelievable. He believes that society is organised in such a way that we are unable to express ourselves freely, that legal restrictions and public prejudices limit our behaviours, that originality is not encouraged, that anything that truly stands out is at least initially distrusted, and that all this conspires to drive people to social problems like alcohol and other forms of release. “The Birdman is the only true artist on the streets”—anon.

I have sent you the track, and will send out an email with the full track listing on it today. I’m afraid i can only send low-quality version via email (the CD is several hundred MBs).
When we finish we will make a DVD, and we’ll definitely tell you when it comes out. It will be a huge celebration of busking worldwide — hundreds of performers packed into one solid DVD. Hope that sounds like something you like,
